The NOMADAMS Question & Answer page
We've set up this page to answer the questions we are asked most often. Please email us if you would like to ask us anything.
Q. Do you worry about security whilst you are travelling, as we've heard that caravans and campervans are often broken into abroad?
A. Determined thieves will always find a way, so we're insured as much as we can be. We try and choose where we site wisely and always take valuables/documents with us when we are away from the caravan. Other precautions we have are solid hitch locks, wheel clamps and alarm stickers in windows. It is an issue you can get paranoid about, so there is always the ultimate solution. (Pic)
Q. How are you coping with the language barrier so far?
A. The Brits are lucky that most other nationalities have a good grasp of English, particularly those involved with tourism. Although we are determined not to be lazy and are learning French (& then Spanish!) as best we can as we travel. It certainly helps spending time where the native tongue is spoken. Mark has developed his own technique when communicating with the locals. (Pic)
Q. So you're seeking to change your lifestyle, looking for a property you can make a living from. What type of properties are you considering?
A. Ideally, something with space & scope to develop into several self contained units. Preferably older style, requiring some renovation, in a semi-rural location yet close enough to a variety of tourist attractions. Here's an ideal snip we saw the other day. (Pic)
